Muhammadiyah Invites the Community to Support the New Government

Muhammadiyah also gave high appreciation to Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD who also accepted the MK's decision. Both presidential and vice presidential candidates showed maturity and chivalry. In fact, the attitude of these elites can influence the psychology of their respective supporters to move on and look to the future.

"Of course, the decision of the Constitutional Court cannot satisfy all parties. However, for the sake of the nation and state, all parties should be patient and give an opportunity to the elected president and vice president, Mr Prabowo and Mr Gibran, to work in leading the nation in accordance with the constitution, vision, mission, and program that have been conveyed during the campaign period," he said when contacted from Jakarta on Tuesday (23/4/2024).

Therefore, Muhammadiyah invites all groups of the society to be loyal to Prabowo-Gibran. Even though they were on different sides during the presidential election, all citizens should reunite to support and oversee the new government that will be formed after the inauguration on October 20, 2024.

"Loyalty is not fanaticism, but critical loyalty as a form of participation in national and state life," said Mu'ti.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) is calling on all parties to accept and respect the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the dispute over the results of the 2024 Presidential Election. All elements of the nation are expected to end the polemic and differences of opinion regarding the election results and initiate reconciliation, consolidation for the common good.

Although during the presidential election he was on a different side, the entire community must come together again to support and oversee the new government that will be formed after the inauguration on October 20, 2024.

The Secretary General of PBNU, Saifullah Yusuf, stated that all parties must adhere to the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the dispute over the presidential election results that was announced on Monday (22/4/2024). The decision is a final and binding constitutional solution to end the dispute over the presidential election results filed by Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

Therefore, PBNU invites all Nahdliyin residents and the entire Indonesian community to be able to accept and respect the results of the 2024 Presidential Election that have been determined by the General Election Commission and upheld through the Constitutional Court's decision. The community must prioritize the spirit of acting in a balanced manner, behaving moderately, being tolerant, and acting fairly and proportionately in viewing the decision.

"The PBNU invites all elements of the nation to end the polemic regarding the results of the presidential election that has passed and start a new page of reconciliation in line with the announcement of the Constitutional Court's decision so that national life can continue as usual," he said.

On the other hand, according to Saifullah, PBNU appealed to all elements involved in the implementation of the election to learn from the 2024 presidential election. This is considering some notes that were conveyed by constitutional judges in their legal considerations of the decision. Several legal considerations need to be implemented to improve the organization of future elections.
