Declaration at Gedung Sate, Bima Arya Heats Up Competition for West Java Governor Candidate

Bima declared his candidacy for the governor of West Java for about an hour. Several flagship programs that are his priority include easy access public services in the field of health. In addition, there is education sector and utilization of tourism potential and resources to open new job opportunities.

"I received the assignment directly from Mr (General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan). "I am ready to make efforts to go to Gedung Sate," said Bima when met by journalists after the declaration activity.

Bima stated that the people of West Java want good healthcare services and a simple BPJS management system. In addition, he continued, the community should not be burdened with having to bribe when registering their children at educational institutions.

"Don't worry about the people of West Java anymore with the zoning system. "The number of elementary schools, middle schools and high schools in West Java is still sufficient," explained Bima.

He also promised to optimize the potential of natural resources and the tourism sector in West Java. The hope is to create employment opportunities as wide as possible in West Java.

"By opening up more job opportunities, people will no longer be trapped by online loans and carrying out illegal levies to get money," said Bima.

He added, PAN will initiate communication with the leaders of political parties in Jabar. The aim is to explore the potential for a coalition in the Jabar gubernatorial election.

Bima also stated that he would form a volunteer team in 27 districts and cities. The former Executive Director of the Center for Indonesian Political Studies also said that he would personally meet with communities in all districts and cities in West Java to introduce his program as a gubernatorial candidate.

Based on the results of the determination by West Java KPU, PAN won 1,632,627 votes with a total of 7 seats in the West Java DPRD. It takes 24 seats in the West Java DPRD to nominate a candidate for governor.

"I maintain good communication with Kang RK (Ridwan Kamil). "The opportunity for a coalition depends on developing political dynamics," he said.

A political analyst from Parahyangan University, Pius Sugeng Prasetyo, stated that Bima has complete competence to advance as a candidate for the governor of West Java. Pius believes that Bima is worthy of being a rival to incumbent candidate Ridwan Kamil in the West Java Gubernatorial Election.

Pius believes that Bima has a wealth of experience as an academic, in the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi) organization, and most recently in serving as the Mayor of Bogor for two terms.

"Bima has social capital recognized in the Bogor region and nationally. Bima must prepare sufficient political capital to promote itself throughout West Java," said Pius.

Regarding the Bima declaration, the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle in West Java, Ono Surono, stated that they have prepared potential party cadres to run as candidates for the West Java governor race. "We have also communicated with the Gerindra Party to explore the possibility of a coalition in the West Java governor election," Ono said.
