In front of Prabowo, Zulhas emphasized that PAN and Gerindra are facing the regional elections

PAN held a National Coordination Meeting on Pilkada Winnings as well as a Technical Guidance Workshop (Bimtek) for National Level Legislative Members on Thursday-Friday (9-11/5/2024) in order to realize victory in the 2024 Pilkada. The opening event was held Thursday evening attended by the 2024-2029 presidential candidate and General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.

Several elites from PAN, such as Deputy Chairman Viva Yoga Mauladi, DPR PAN Fraction Chairman Saleh Daulay, and PAN Secretary General Eddy Soeparno, also attended the event. The national coordination meeting was attended by PAN officials from the central board, regional boards, and local boards throughout Indonesia.

In the regional elections, we will basically continue to work together with Gerindra. For example, areas in Jakarta, West Java, Jambi, Bengkulu, and others.

Zulhas conveyed that PAN would also encourage its cadres to run in regional elections in several areas. For example, for West Java, PAN will propose former Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya and Chairman of DPW PAN West Java, Desy Ratnasari.

In that opportunity, Zulhas explained that the national coordination meeting was held to formulate the party's struggle steps after the 2024 election. "We must formulate how the struggle should be. If we want food self-sufficiency, what is the way? If we want sovereignty in the economic sector to grow 7 percent, what is the way? That is what will be discussed in this national coordination meeting," he said.

The Secretary of the organizing committee of the regional elections coordination meeting (rakornas pilkada), Mira Dallima Andini, while delivering her report, revealed that this event was attended by 1,350 members of the PAN DPRD from all over Indonesia, both at the provincial and district/city levels. In addition, all members of the PAN DPR faction, local government officials who are PAN cadres, and around 800 prospective regional heads undergoing the process in PAN also attended.

"God willing, these two days are not just for strengthening friendship. We are also coming together and solidifying our foundation, one vision and mission, and standing firmly behind Chairman Zulkifli Hasan to continue our togetherness and win PAN in the 2024 regional elections," said Mira.

Repay PAN's loyalty

In his speech, Prabowo stated that Gerindra Party and PAN share one similarity, which is loyalty. PAN has supported him since the 2014 presidential election until 2024. For 15 years, Prabowo continued, PAN has never asked for a fee from him.

"Oh dear, it would be difficult if I don't attend. The idea is that loyalty must be repaid with loyalty. It is like when we climb a high mountain, the higher we go, the thinner the oxygen gets, only the strong will reach the peak. And once they are at the peak, they feel the importance of the oxygen. I feel the importance of loyalty here," said Prabowo.

Prabowo also admitted that he will continue to build cooperation with all parties. However, he does not mind if there are still those who do not want to work with him. He also asked those who do not want to work together not to disturb.

"Indonesia cannot be contained. Unless the Indonesian elite cannot or unwilling to cooperate. That's the key. Therefore, I will continue to fight together with all the forces who are willing to cooperate. Those who do not want to cooperate are fine," said Prabowo.
